Owoeye David Adegbenga is the Head of Internal Control and Audit at ECL Asset Management Limited. Before joining ECL Asset Management Limited, he served as Internal Control and Audit Manager at Africa Plus Partners, providing oversight for subsidiaries including Nationwide Truck Services Ltd and INFRACO.
David brings over 23 years of banking and finance experience, having held several leadership roles across major financial institutions. He was Regional Controller, Area Controller, and Cluster Compliance Officer at Ecobank Nigeria from 2012 to 2024, and earlier served with Oceanic Bank, WEMA Bank, and UBA in compliance and control functions.
He began his professional journey at Ernst & Young (Osindero Lasebikan & Co) and steadily grew into senior roles through his commitment to operational integrity and financial discipline. David has attended various trainings and led major regulatory audit preparations, including multiple CBN examinations. He played a key role in driving internal control frameworks, implementing compliance strategies, and streamlining audit operations in complex banking environments.

He holds a National Diploma from Federal Polytechnic Ede, a bachelor’s degree in Management and Accounting, an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Obafemi Awolowo University, and a Master’s in Treasury Management from Bayero University Kano. David is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and a Designate Compliance Professional (DCP) of the Compliance Institute of Nigeria.
